With Waikato easing lockdown restrictions, the Dairy NZ Waikato Autumn Calving Discussion Group looks set to proceed next Wednesday from 11am to 1pm at 427 Ryburn Road, Ohaupo.
Covid protocols mean there will not be lunch provided but attendees can bring their own food and drink.
This is a great opportunity to learn and share ideas and best practices around calving. Some of the topics being discussed include the pros and cons of growing maize on farm vs purchasing it, deciding the proportion of Autumn and Spring calving cows, and also talking through some of the Fonterra Insights reports and key learnings from them.
For calving, as with all aspects of farming, the more you can share both insights and concerns, the more you can learn and improve not only productivity, but also the wellbeing of your herd as well as your team. To learn more about this calving event and others, visit the DairyNZ website.
